The lives and livelihoods of people across India were severely impacted due to the Covid 19 pandemic. While the government announced a slew of policy measures to address the same, critical analysis has shown that these measures were not adequate. There were significant gaps between policies and needs of vulnerable communities. Could participatory planning have ensured more responsive policy making?
In Anekal, Bagalur and Kolar, we used a game based approach (using the game ‘Ondhu Katheya Keli’ ) for people to share their stories and experiences during the pandemic and strategies to address those issues. We have brought out the learnings of this exercise through a report which will be released on Saturday, May 21 between 3pm – 5pm, online.
In the course of the webinar, representatives of Fields of View, SIEDS and ALF will share about the context, the game based approach and the learnings and representatives from Anekal, Bagalur and Kolar will share their experiences of the process.
We will also have the following guest speakers responding to the report
Smt Uma Mahadevan
Additional Chief Secretary, Panchayat Raj, Government of Karnataka
Mohammed Ummer, Project Smile, Mercy Mission
